1/27/09 Board meeting

There really isn't anything on the agenda except the budget votes, but if you want to watch us vote, be prepared to stay late. Everything else happens first including recognitions, public input, the Superintendent's report, Board comments and even a closed meeting. As always the meeting will be webcast and available on cable & FIOS, though it's harder to cheer us on or give us the evil eye from home.

  1. Please fight for teachers' jobs and stable class sizes. Getting rid of classroom teachers should be the absolute, last resort. Specials and assitants play an important role as well. I am a teacher of 6 yrs. and I would gladly take the pay freeze to keep teachers and the people they count on from being shuffled around, moved off teams or displaced.

  2. While I agree with the previous comment, I am somewhat chagrined that the School Board is going ahead with their meeting Tuesday night. The BOS canceled their meeting, and I imagine most people will assume that the School Board has meeting has been canceled, also. The result will be that people who meant to provide input will not come to the meeting. The School Board should not hold meetings on days when school has been canceled.

  3. I completely agree with the second comment about holding last night's meeting. I am happy to say I made it to the meeting and back home last night safely, but I (and no one else) had any business out on the roads)!
