Sonya, the best thing to do prior to the December 3rd Public Hearing is to work together with your neighbors to decide what the community wants to express, and then work with them on expressing it directly to your representatives on the School Board as well as at the public hearing. Lansdowne's represenatives are Bob Ohneiser and Tom Reed. It's pretty late in the process to propose a different solution, but if neither of the two options on the table currently pass then there will be an opportunity. This is very unlikely however.John, I am a lansdowne resident and I am not sure what my options are on Dec. 3rd. Can you tell me what to expect. Am I expected to speak to the two presented options or can I bring a 3rd option to the table?? Help.
There will also be opportunity for public comment on December 8th prior to the Board's vote.

John, I've been a critic in the past on this blog.....but I want to acknowledge your response. You're not mixing in opinion.....you're helping someone understand the most effective way to work within the system and work with their community. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

It's not clear why Lansdowne must be handled as a single entity. There are obviously different neighborhoods within the area, and a whole section is on the other side of Goose Creek and would seem to have more in common with Potomac Station than Lansdowne.
The whole process makes it appear that special treatment is either expected by the residents or given by the school system.
How much analysis has been done on the school loading impacts of allowing Lansdowne to be separated into different attendance zones?
