Overall, there was little or no change from the 2007 scores, although the results were somewhat positive at the 8th grade. However, achievement at both levels has consistently been on the rise since 1990 so much so that 4th and 8th graders today are 2 to 3 years ahead in math than their counterparts two decades ago.I'm not so surprised once I think about it a bit, about the difference between my education and that my kids are getting. It struck me when I read it though.

National Math Scores

Last month, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) released the results of nationally standardized math tests for 4th & 8th graders. I received an analysis from the National School Boards Association, which said something very interesting:
