Gay Youth Support Group Begins In Loudoun

Metro DC PFLAG, an area chapter of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays, a national support organization for people who are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender, is launching a support group in Loudoun County on Sunday with a kickoff celebration in Sterling, said Lori Stevens, a vice president on Metro DC PFLAG's board of directors.
I'm very pleased that this group is starting, and very proud of its founder (Lori Stevens) for the great work she has done to establish it. Yes, she's my wife, and yes, she's a beauty. The beauty next to her is my step-daughter, and I'm proud of her too.
Loudoun Out Loud's opening event will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. at the at the Unitarian Universalists of Sterling and will feature the introduction of the group's facilitators, dancing and door prizes, and remarks from Kye Allums, a transgender basketball player from George Washington University, as well as local social activists and county leaders including Sen. Mark R. Herring (D-Loudoun), county supervisor Stevens Miller (D-Dulles) and Loudoun school board chairman John Stevens (Potomac).
Loudoun Out Loud will hold regular meetings on the fourth Sunday of every month from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalists of Sterling at 22135 Davis Drive.
