From an email I received:
I thought it ironic that the March 23 EdWeek article "Momentum Builds for Dual-Language Learning" cites that 2000 school districts across the U.S. have immersive K-12 dual language programs and that many more are looking to develop them.So "Poor Jill" wonders why people think she doesn't care about our educational system. The first action taken by her and fellow Board members was not to find inefficiences (as Ms. Turgeon's campaign promised) but to decimate the Loudoun FLES program. What many of her constituents and other Loudoun parents, including myself, fear is that that action begins a slide from providing a competitive, 21st century, world class education to what one Board member said should be our goal, a "good basic education" for our students. Is that what this Board thinks Loudoun County wants?!
No... that's not what Loudoun wants. I wonder how much this board policies are busting enrollment in private schools.
