A worthy event! My daughter attended with friends and learned about personal safety in various settings. Not only did the seminars raise the girls' awareness, it reinforced past lessons from us (parents) and school courses/programs. The fashion segment was minor and was purely an attraction factor. It's a shame the debate tournament had less-than-ideal facilities, however better planning

I find it a bit funny that this event is actually surplanting a high shcool debate tournament at the same school, forcing the debaters into cramped, suboptimal conditions for their activity; but then I guess America places greater value on dressing well and eating than they do on actual academic pursuits - a fact borne out by several studies in the last decade.Funny, I've asked lots of job

Great idea. Sadly far more opportunities like this, particularly overnight lock-ins could be hosted in County schools and community centers by non-profit organizations if LCPS and Loudoun County could be more creative to find ways to open their facilities without charging prohibitively high usage fees. Many non-profits carry liability insurance, so it can't simply be about that. It seems
