Not only are we spending hundreds of our own money on school supplies / crafts / decorations / treats, and our salaries are frozen, our insurance copays went up, and the amount that comes out of our paychecks have increased...it's super fun!
BUT.....the county can pay for white boards to be put in every 3-5th grade classroom.

Ed, we have had our salaries FROZEN. My contract salary did NOT go up, not one cent. This year's pay is exactly the same as last year's. There was no step/scale increase either.

Besides my taxes going up and utilities as well, I am working more hours and yes, still spending hundreds of my own money each year to make my classroom look cute and inviting to children.

There is no union in Loudoun County. LEA has no collective bargaining rights. Please, get your facts straight. We are NOT a county with a teachers' union. We have an association, but not a union. This drives me crazy!!! Repeat after me: There is no union in Loudoun County.

I would be interested to know how many contract days for licensed personnel there are in each of these districts. Are LCPS teachers getting smaller salaries because they work fewer days, or are they getting smaller salaries and working more days, in which case there is an even greater salary disparity.
